Sunday Serenity: Eccentricity In All Its Admiration!

I love eccentric individuals, and I’ll tell you why.  Despite an onlooker’s bewildering glances, eccentric folks do not give one hoot about what others think of them.  They are as far from trying to ‘fit in’ with the crowd as one can possibly get.  They make no apologies for wearing massive, blue hats covered in rhinestones, nor do they feel an obligatory response is necessary when you ask them why they prefer to eat only orange vegetables on Tuesdays.

Eccentric people don’t feel a need to explain why they collect non-winning lottery tickets or shampoo their rugs with Dawn dish soap.  They love to line up their tea cups in the order they were purchased, and quite frankly, could care less if the ‘chip’ on the rim of the cup meets their lips each time they sip their Peruvian rosehip tea.

No, the eccentric person understands that their special and unique ‘way’ of living isn’t for everyone.  However, what they do know is that by not allowing yourself to be who you truly are, feel what you really feel, and not surround yourself in YOUR personal reflection of happiness is to, well, live a false and ‘make-believe’ existence.  With a sly smile, the eccentric individual thinks, “Now who is the person that is REALLY living in reality?

I love eccentric people. 🙂

I too love eccentric people and can’t wait to more fully become one. When I retire and and shed the visage of my professional job, I plan on being a very eccentric old man thoroughly enjoying life.
