The Friday File: Magical, Mini Library!!

Library

A few days ago I wrote a post called, “Trite But True:  “The Little Things in Life Matter“.  Lo and behold, didn’t I come across something that is not only ‘little’, but ‘matters’ as well!

Ah, this cute little box that someone created holds books for the taking, and asks for books to be placed into this magical, mini ‘library’.  Talk about inspiring!  There is it, this wee, hand-made ‘library’ that someone took the time to build, install, and no doubt place books into for others to enjoy.

I think this exchange of books has been going on for quite some time.  Here’s the plaque that is on the ‘roof’ of the ‘library’:

Library 2

Well-worn, to me makes it even more appealing.  It just goes to show that its use and appreciation by others is still there.

I think I’ll put some books into the library; say, I wonder what the library cards look like? Little postage-stamp sized bits!  I must remember to see if there is a squirrel or two taking shifts to check out the books for patrons.  Take a book, leave a nut.  Fair trade, I think! 🙂

Hi, Cher, yes, little libraries are terrific! I built and placed one in my neighborhood and “curate” the books from time to time. It’s a nice small way of fostering a sense of community among neighbors. Glad there’s one with which you’ve crossed paths. 🙂

I saw the mini pop-up Library around the K.W. / Cambridge, the “Golden Horse Shoe” its taken on a huge popularity. Been going on a number of years here in Canada. Perhaps it did start up here, I can’t say for certain That’s the coolest way to re-purpose something we all can appreciate! .
