The Friday File – Chicago, what a view!

Chicago Skyline February 19 2016

How’s this for a view! This city is incredible.  It never ceases to amaze me (literally).  Lake Michigan is looming in the background along with various buildings of our magnificent city.

From this vantage point, you would never know we were experiencing 50 mile per hour winds!!

I hope your day is filled with inspiring moments!

The wind is so fierce! OMG almost knocked me over. Never stand with your back to it…stand sideways if you’re waiting to cross the street. LOLOL Fierce. Great photo. And, of course, IT’S DARK AGAIN!!!!

I had the same experience! I was downtown and I actually had to stop walking because I couldn’t go any further for a few seconds! That is a great tip about standing sideways! Thanks for that my dear! Yes it is dark again! *LOL* The wind blew the good weather right out of the area!! Cher xo

It did and seriously…once, during the winter, we had wind like this and we had to make a human chain with strangers to get across Michigan Avenue. LOLOL Stand sideways for sure.

We sure do, John! Ah, that’s about what we have right now. Some areas are getting into the 70 mile/hour range. Things are flying all over downtown; wood, pieces of buildings (lots of construction going on). Part of the “L” train-line is shut down at the moment because of flying debris!! Cher xo

Wow, that’s scary. More so when stuff blows off of buildings. Deadly…

Yes, it’s quite something! I have the news on right now and the police are giving a report as to what areas downtown are blocked off right now (more train lines are not running as well). Yikes!

Hi Irene! It was an amazing view and yes, a clear day until about 2 hours later! Then it was grey, and EXTREMELY windy! We had all kinds of havoc later that afternoon due to the wind! You’d never know it from that photo though, would you? Cher xo

That’s one vantage point we’ve never seen; spectacular!! I do hope the view remains the same, urban development is everywhere! In our own little town of Paris, we have experienced “clear cutting” of a huge forests to make more homes!! It saddens me to see this; apparently the trees were “diseased” and are being replaced by new seedlings, I sure hope so!!!

It’s an amazing view, isn’t it? Awh, I sure hope they plant lots of trees!! I hate it when trees are cut down for ‘development’! Thank you, my dear! Cher xo

Hi dear Donna! So good to see you!! Ah yes, it is quite a sight, isn’t it? Interestingly enough, I am a tad bit afraid of heights; however, not from this spectacular view for some reason! And to you as well my dear friend!! Ah, bless!! Big soaring hugs right back at you! Cher xoxo
