Sunrise – Simple & Serene

sunrise Lake Michigan Jan 30 2016 1

Today in Chicagoland it is extremely windy; the waves of Lake Michigan are fierce and ample.  Hail is tapping on the windows at the moment.  I needed a bit of ‘calmness’, so I thought I would post this picture I took of the lake last week.  While it is a sunrise almost entirely shrouded in clouds, it has a nice, calm, and serene feel to it, don’t you think?

I hope your day is filled with the same energy as is in this photo (and not gale-force winds afoot)!

You are so lucky to see the sun rising right over the lake, Cher!

How about some hail photos? Can you see the rollers from your location?

Hi John! The hail has now turned into rain! I just tried to take some photos of the rollers but they don’t seem to capture the magnitude if that makes sense. They appear as ‘white streaks’; I will try again!! Cher xo

That’s OK, thanks for trying. It seems you may not always get the large waves on the west side of the lake either considering the general flow of the weather patterns in North America.

The rollers are quite high though, John. It’s just difficult to get a good, clear shot at this angle and distance. I’ll venture down to the shore sometime when it’s not so nasty outside and try for a closer shot! Cher xo
