You said “Wordless Wednesdays.” That’s two words. Two words! So it can’t be wordless. Don xoxo

Hhmmppphhffff!! Just like your 2in1; that can’t be right either! It’s either 2 or 1 but not 2 in one; that doesn’t make sense, Don!! ;-P xoxo

WOW! Thank you so much, David! Astonishing photos! And the video! It brings an entirely new perspective to ‘my town’! Cher xo

David; spectacular photography, I imagined Sherlock Holmes venturing in the foggy mists or perhaps a sinister gad with a black flowing cape! The video was mesmerizing, comets included. Thanks for that view. ( I am a new blogger; pardon me if I mess up a bit! )

Love this, Cher – the lines, horizontal and perpendicular as well as the light. It looks clean and beautifully proportioned.

You have described this space perfectly, Don! Thank you! It is located at the Chicago Cultural Center. I’m going to post more photos of this incredible building soon. In fact, if I remember correctly, the marble used in the staircases in the building is from the same quarry that Michaelangelo’s, “David” statue came from. I believe the town where the quarry is located is, “Carrara”. Fascinating! Cher xo

Strange thing Cher, when I looked at the image, Michaelangelo came to mind. I wanted to say it in the comment but thought it may look a bit silly. 🙂

Oh heavens, Don, NEVER a silly comment; always thoughtful and appreciated. Well you certainly have a keep eye, Don! Brilliant! I shall take some photos of the staircases soon and I’ll ‘marvel’ at the ‘marble’! *grin* Cher xo

The Chicago Cultural Center used to be the main branch of the Chicago Public Library. They moved the stacks to the old Encyclopedia Brittanica building on Pioneer Square to do needed repairs, and someone decided to make it the Cultural Center. It’s a beautiful building. They used to have classical concerts at lunchtime; do they still do that?

Thanks for the information, John. I had heard it used to be the main branch of the Chicago Public Library, but I didn’t know about the stacks moved to the Encyclopedia Brittanica building. Yes, they do still put on concerts at lunchtime on Wednesdays. Once in a while I attend a concert, and sometimes I listen to it on the radio! Cher xo
