Cloud Convention!

Clouds 3 July 17 2015

While gazing over Lake Michigan the other day, I was greeted by a rather interesting cloud gathering.  It’s almost as if they were having a ‘cloud meeting’ of sorts.  White, textured, popcorn-like clouds intertwined with long, grey barge-shaped clouds attempting to intimidate but literally filled with nothing more than hot air I suppose!

The ‘walled’ clouds seem to fill up some of the background, all the while pink hues of light kept any foreboding rain at bay.

And as quickly as this theatrical cloud contingency appeared in my midst, poof, it was gone.

Ah, thank you so much, Don! I was hoping others wouldn’t think my photo was, ‘just a bunch of clouds’! I saw such an unusual collection of cloud types and colors that I had to share!! Hope everything is going well in the UK, Don! Cher xo

    Gorgeous pic, Cher.

Do you like the O’Keeffe painting with the same theme at the AIC?

Ah, thank you so much! Thank you also for providing the link to the O’Keeffe painting! I do like it, and yes, I’ve seen it at the AIC. I think it’s a great representation of what it’s like to look out the window of an airplane and see the clouds below and the sky above. Great artist! Cher xo

Maybe one day. My dad grew up in Michigan. We used to collect agates on the shores.

Yes, they were treasures for me. I still have some, 30 years later. My father’s family all come from the great lakes, Canada and US sides.

I bet they were, Brenda. Oh you still have some? That’s really cool. Ah, you have Canadian family, too! 🙂

Yes, my family were originally in Canada, and then crossed the border in the great-great- or great-great-great-grandparent stage. We’re lost touch with the Canadian branch, but they are undoubtedly still there.

I always find it fascinating when that happens, Brenda. In the knowing there are those we are related to ‘out there’, but unaware at the same time as to who they are!
