Here is a little piece of tv trivia for you. The, “Bob Newhart Show” was a television program about a psychologist from Chicago. The show ran from 1972 to 1978. The opening credits show Bob going into his apartment; the building in the center of the photo above is that very building! A stroll along Lake Michigan today reminded me of this once very popular show. Bob Newhart was born in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park (the name of the show and the actor are one in the same). Interestingly enough, Mr. Newhart’s grandmother was from St. Catharines, Ontario. Gee Bob, you are part Canadian! No wonder you have a great sense of ha ha! It is quite fun to think the building is in my neck of the woods!
Just a tad before my time but hey! cool 🙂

Life is a circle isn’t it? I was a teen in those years, never missed an episode. Suzanne Pleshette was so pretty! Never been in Chicago proper, love how the river passes through the city.

Is that ever cool, John! I love that, too! I know Marsha Wallace who played the receptionist was also the voice of, “Mrs. Krapabble” on, “The Simpsons”. Cher xo

Thank you, Indah! It really is a gorgeous area! Ah, yes, the show was very funny and great acting. It was on in syndication for many years after it originally ran (1972-1978) so I watched it throughout the 1980’s quite often! Cher xo

We still have some old-fashioned recordings of classic Bob Newhart, and they still make us laugh (not the TV show, which we never had in the UK, but the speeches like the Driving Instructor, the USS Codfish and the Discovery of Tobacco).
