On September 11th, 2001, Canada began its, “Operation Yellow Ribbon”. Approximately 33,000 passengers on 239 US-bound flights were rerouted to Canadian civilian and military airports.
Communities small and large opened their hearts, their arms, and in the literal sense, their cupboards, to feed and provide shelter to all travelers who found themselves in a surreal and frightening situation.
Remembering and forever keeping our thoughts and prayers strong as we unite as one.

The Canadian people are some of the best people in the world and it is sad to see that it has taken such a tragedy for the people to understand there greatest neighbors like ever …this is he Canadian way

Cher, lovely post. Brings back some memories of stories I read that day in the newspapers about people in Canada opening up their arms and homes. I particularly remember what was going on in Nova Scotia. A whole town accepted all the passengers from one plane and every home participated in trying to offer sympathy for the tragedy and for those folks finding themselves in a part of the world they never expected to find themselves and for that reason. Many of the passengers did not have proper clothing for that area, and the townspeople offered whatever they had. It was surely a time when people came together because of a tragedy. It’s too bad that it takes such an occurrence for people to see their neighbors as neighbors; not just a strange person walking in the street.

Today is the heartbreaking reminder – not just of an attack on the U.S. – for it was an assault against any nation or individual who does not follow their fanatical ideologies. Thank you for this post.

Hi sweet Cher! I did not know of this either! I am sure it was because of the shock of it all…being glued to the television watching the horror over and over! I wish more stories like this would be told…maybe it could help lessen the horrific memories. Love to you…I hope all is super in your world! ❤
